Why Are We So Careless About Our Health?
Health is perhaps the most important thing in the world. However, we take it for granted. We are so careless about our health. We make choices and decisions that seem to pave a path to an awful wellbeing.
Seriously, how many times do you eat fast food even though you are well aware it’s bad? How many times have you gotten sick because of something you did that you knew was unhealthy? Take a deep breath and think about it.
You obviously exercise the recommended amount each day, right? Just to confirm, you know the recommended amount, right? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the recommended amount of exercise for children and adolescents is 60 minutes (1 full hour).
According to CBC News, a study finds that almost 80% of adult Americans do not exercise the recommended amount. This can lead to numerous health problems that can be very serious.
You see, lack of enough exercise is just one of many health hazards that we fail to truly acknowledge in our busy day to day life. Read through this list again and see how many of the items apply to you. Many of the harmful health habits are unfortunately too common in our society. Many of them are just because of how irresponsible we are.
We all know that we watch way too much TV these days. That’s great and all, but you do know that it’s severely bad for us, right? The amount of time we spend (or, rather, waste) watching TV is just unbelievable.
Procrastination is 100% a grand issue in today’s world. The simple truth is that we are too lazy to do anything. Also, we eat too much at times. Overeating leads to innumerable amounts of hazardous health problems. Bad is literally killing us these days. Just so you know, bad is the direct synonym for fast food. There is no question about it.
“I think people should stop stressing too much and start living life better. There is unnecessary tension and that tension can affect our health,” says Whitman freshman Jaycee Cardoso. Stress is another health hazard that can be very dangerous. Sometimes, it’s important to not stress over certain circumstances.
As you can see, we sometimes (or most times in many cases) make terrible health decisions. This leads to the conclusion that we don’t appreciate the importance of health.
