Dr. Ben Carson is running in the 2016 election as a Republican candidate known for his criticism of Obamacare and staunchly conservative views.  A retired pediatric neurosurgeon and alumnus of Yale University and University of Michigan Medical School, Carson has written bestselling books and received a Presidential Medal of Freedom. And, he is not a politician. Carson came from a low-income household in Detroit and struggled with behavior issues as a child. As he grew up, he shook those issues and excelled academically through the influence of prayer. At press time, Carson and Donald Trump are neck and neck with 21% to 20% in a WSJ poll.
