Project Runway: The Final Four
The Emmy-nominated show is currently airing its 14th season. With just one episode left, the expectations are higher than ever. The extremely driven and talented final four consists of:
Edmond Newton: Edmond is 37-years-old and has been auditioning for Project Runway since the first season. Winning three challenges this season, Edmond has proved to the judges that he should’ve been accepted into the show seasons ago. Edmond’s designs are always high fashion and evening wear looks.
Shockingly, Edmond shouldn’t even be in the final four. He was eliminated in the semi-finals but was saved by Tim Gunn, who is allowed to save one designer per season. One of the judges, Nina Garcia, revealed in an interview that she was glad that Edmond was saved. I’m sure the audience feels the same way. Edmond is very persistent and deserves this spot.
Kelly Dempsey: Kelly is 31-years-old and is definitely the most unique designer in the competition. Starting off as an underdog, her designs “lacked polish” and were “too much.” Proving the judges wrong, Kelly dominated the closing of the season winning a whopping four challenges. Winning the semi-final challenge with a sleek pantsuit printed with a handmade textile, Kelly can be considered the designer to beat in the finale.
Ashley Nell Tipton: Ashley is 24-years-old and is the first designer in the history of Project Runway to design a plus-size collection for the finale. Could this unique and creative edge guarantee her a win? Possibly. Starting the competition off with a bang, Ashley won the first challenge and proceeded to win another. Being a very emotional person, Ashley has been cracking under pressure and somehow ending up in the bottom three numerous times, despite her great skill. Hopefully, Ashley won’t let the other competitors affect her collection in the finale because she can also be tough to beat, alongside Kelly.
Candice Cuoco: Candice is 27-years-old and almost always finds a way to incorporate leather into her designs. In fact, her best design that gave her a win included leather. Candice has won two challenges this season. With very different finale pieces, the judges think that her designs are not cohesive enough for New York Fashion Week and need to look more polished. Being the strong designer she is, Candice has the potential to turn her whole collection around and win the entire competition.
Update: Ashley Nell Tipton was declared the winner of Project Runway on Thursday, November 5.
