Review: Reign Of Kings
Reign Of Kings is a multiplayer RPG set in medieval times that was released as an early access on March 11, 2015, by Code}{atch. The game is a sandbox where you can gather resources to design and build houses and strongholds either with a guild or by yourself. Along with your guild, you may clash with the competition in brutal combat as you attack. If they surrender, you may take pleasure in the grim darkness of medieval times as you take them to the gallows to be executed.
Where there is war, there is conquest, is there not? In wars between guilds, you may attempt to destroy or conquer a stronghold that a guild has made using a variety of machines, such as the ballista or trebuchet. If this does not please you, then you may play the role of a wandering musician with a war drum, longhorn, bent horn, etc.
If that’s not your style, then don’t worry, this game has plenty else to do. There is a lot of freedom in this game–for example, if you are not pleased with the current taxes the king has set, then you may attempt to overthrow him and take the throne for yourself. This freedom is what draws a lot of players in.
The community is more or less split on this game, with only 66 percent of reviews listed as positive. This dissatisfaction is mostly because of glitches that are still being worked out, which is why it hasn’t been released as a full game, but rather an early access game.
As far as survival/sandbox/RPG games go, the game is decent for an early access release. However, you will always have certain people who attempt to make the game unenjoyable and admins on some servers who don’t do their jobs and abuse their powers. Other than that, I personally enjoy the game and would suggest it to others.
