Hillary Feeling the Bern

Bernie Sanders Surpasses Clinton in Caucus States

Recent polls released this past week have shown a surge in support for Senator Bernie Sanders as the caucus elections in Iowa rapidly approach.

In poll done by Quinnipiac University, Senator Sanders was found to be leading the race in Iowa with 49 percent support compared to Hillary Clinton’s mere 44 percent. Meanwhile, just a month ago the numbers were drastically different, with 54 percent for Clinton and 40 percent for Sanders.

Although he may not be the frontrunner in every poll yet, other polls show Sanders quickly closing in on Clinton, in some cases even to the single digits. A survey done by Policy Polling released on Tuesday found Clinton leading by only six points compared to last month’s poll where she held an 18-point lead.

Finally, a Monmouth University Poll of voters likely to participate in the New Hampshire Democratic primary elections found Sanders holds a 14-point lead.

The tide of the race is changing, and support for Sanders is rising. But will it be enough for him to win the Democratic nomination?
