Donald Trump is a businessman and a politician who currently is the leading Republican presidential candidate. He is a Christian-American citizen and was born in New York.  Not long ago, Pope Francis and Trump had a small controversy between religion and politics…

Trump believes we have to limit immigration in America in order to “make America great again.” He says, “If we don’t have borders, we don’t have a country.” Trump says that building a wall between America and Mexico will prevent further immigration.

Recently Pope Francis, the head of the Roman Catholic Church, declared Donald Trump, “not a Christian” after visiting Mexico. Pope Francis argues, “A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian.” Trump retaliates by saying the Pope was “disgraceful” for commenting on Trump’s faith. Supporters of Trump declare building walls is a necessity to improve America’s security despite being Christian. However, to many Christians, building walls to block other people from freedom or a chance of a better life is not acceptable in their religious community. Pope Francis and his supporters say that we should be connecting and helping others rather than blocking them from our world. This leaves Americans and Christians who support Donald Trump wondering, should we build a wall and prevent people of a new life?
