DECA Success
This past week, Whitman DECA dominated their regional competition. 23 out of the club’s 43 attendees managed to move on and achieved the chance to compete at the state level. Whitman students certainly did not let the week-long break dull their determination to win; one member, Joanne Nguyen, going so far as to “study obsessively” to utilize the time off. The club’s advisor, Ms. Kluepfel, exclaimed “everyone did great” – even those who did not manage to move on. Executive Co-Vice President, Joseph VanGostein, added those who failed to move on this year “will all have a chance again next year.” The half of the group who succeeded was comprised of both experienced and new members alike, and hopefully the entire group will gain many more accolades in the future.
