Nick Jonas’s Comeback
Nick Jonas, former teen pop sensation, has made a huge comeback in the music and film industries. A year ago on E! Network, the news of the Jonas Brothers official breakup left the world wondering if any of the brothers would go on to continue their careers as solo artists. Nick, the youngest band member, knew it was his time to make his solo career happen. His debut in Flaunt Magazine marked the beginning of his new career. Jonas’ spread in the magazine, a tribute to Mark Wahlberg’s famous Calvin Klein underwear ad, gained major global coverage.
Jonas did not stop there. He made a second debut in acting in October, portraying a martial arts fighter named Nate on Direct TV’s new show, Kingdom. Simultaneously, his solo career began to flourish with the release of his album Nick Jonas. The album saw Jonas breaking away from his traditional pop-rock style for a more sleek, electro and contemplative R&B. Three songs on the album, “Chains,” “Jealous” and “Numb” have made a tremendous impact on fans and the music industry. In “Chains,” Nick describes himself as being trapped in his childhood identity as a Jonas brother. “Numb,” featuring Hazel Grace, recounts the story of a girl who has stolen Jonas’ heart and left him completely numb with her love. Jonas’ top-chart hit, “Jealous” was written to convey his envy of another man admiring his girlfriend. Nick Jonas has made a daring comeback in Hollywood, and it is clear that he has a plethora of surprises in store for his fans in the future.
