Meanwhile, Girls Varsity Soccer has had some fantastic wins this season, including against Central Islip (5-1), Oyster Bay (8-0) and Connequot (2-1). Goalie Brittany Shaneberger has made impressive saves while Shelbi Wuss, Joie Tortorice and Rebecca DeWitt have also been constant scorers for the team. It looks like both soccer programs are going to make a big impact this year!

The Girls Varsity Volleyball team recently had a great match at their annual NYIT game, defeating Centereach (3-1) in a close match. Senior Emma Kongevold had 19 kills and four blocks while Junior Olivia Poplawski had 34 assists and 13 digs. Libero Lauren Civello totaled 22 digs. Overall, the team had 22 aces and was able to be a fierce competitor representing Whitman. The Boys Varsity Volleyball team recently beat Center Moriches (3-0). Some notable players were Jack Poplawski with 7 kills and 4 aces, Waris Barakzai with 7 kills and 2 blocks and Christian Corbett with 16 digs. They are both hoping for an exciting season!

Things are really coming along for Girls Field Hockey this season, as the team currently holds a record of 5-1. They recently defeated Connequot (3-2), Hills (8-0), and William Floyd (7-0).
